IUI went well

They did another ultra sound on me right before and I was ovulating right then, so our timing was perfect. My husband broke his own record, again! After the wash process on the sample, we ended up with 256 million swimmers! Amazing number, considering they get excited about 60 million, and between 60-80 million is the norm. All we need is one, right?

Our first beta is on June 1st. I'll update you when we have results. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Our IUI is tomorrow!

Went in for my 2nd ultrasound today to check and see how my follicle/egg is progressing w/the help of Clomid and today my follie was 24mm! (it was 17mm on Monday) And my uterine lining was 14mm (Monday is was 9mm). Both are excellent and so they gave me the HCG trigger shot that will make my body ovulate. Our IUI is scheduled for tomorrow at 11:30am. We'll bring the sample in at 10am and then go back at 11:30.

My DH will be doing the rest of my injections at home. I'll have a 2nd HCG booster shot on Monday (to help my ovaries produce progesterone) and I'll start my progesterone in oil shots this Saturday, once a day for 2wks and then if we find out I am PG, then I'll continue the progesterone shots thru my 1st trimester so I don't miscarry.

Back from my follicle ultra sound today

Had my u/s to check my follie growth in both ovaries, and there is a large one in my left ovary this cycle that looks to be the "egg of the month". It is measuring 17mm, and they want it to be 21mm or > before they give me the trigger shot, so I'm coming back Wed AM to do another u/s to see if it's big enough by then. Follies usually grow about 2mm a day. My uterine lining was 9mm, which is adequate thickness for implantation. So it's looking like if all goes well on Wed and I get the shot, then our IUI will be on Thursday.

Back from RE and upset

So I go to my RE for a base line u/s today and a RX for Clomid. Long story short, she gives me an RX for 50mg instead of 100mg, even after I told her (again) that I don't respond to 50mg and that's why my last 4 clomid cycles I was on 100mg and responded well each time. She insisted on 50mg anyway, stating issues w/lining and CM - even after I told her that my lining was always thick (around 10mm-13mm) and we are doing IUI so what does CM matter? So then I'm thinking, "ok, she's the expert, what do I know." Then I go to check out and the girl tells me it'll be $170 please. "WHAT?! For what?" I say. She tells me it's for the u/s, my insurance doesn't cover it since it's coded for IF. I told her all my previous u/s were covered at my OB (for Clomid and IUI cycles) and the 1st u/s at my RE was covered. She said she was sorry and they can't code it as anything else b/c that would be lying and fraudulant. So at $170 a pop for an u/s (and needing at least 4 ea cycle) I told them I can't afford to come back here anymore. I left wanting to cry, I was so upset and surprised, AND my husband is going to have a heart attack when he finds out I spent almost $200 today for nothing! No one told me to be prepared to pay that amount for each u/s when I made the appt. They did not set the right expectation.

So, now I have no choice but to go back to my OBGYN and do my cycles there. My RE removed my septum so hopefully that's all I needed and he can do my Clomid/IUI cycles in his office with u/s's covered and IUI costing $250 out of pocket.

I left a msg w/my OBGYN's phone nurse to call me back and set up appt for u/s's and Clomid rx for an IUI cycle. So I'm just waiting for them to call me back now. I guess my OBGYN does code my u/s and other stuff as "painful menses" or "endo" so that most of everything is covered for me. Why do some doctor's have a problem doing this for patients? (other than the fact that yes, technicaly, it's lying....)

So, I'm hoping I got from the RE what I needed to be successful at getting PG w/her removing my septum and a polyp.

TTC#1, Cycle # 23, CD2

Yay! AF is here! We can TTC again! Hello cycle # 23!!

This is the cycle we've been waiting for since my surgery in March to remove a uterine septum (that was taking up 2/3s of my uterus and was missed during my 1st lap by different doctor!). And finally I'm CD1 today! This is the 1st time in a loooong time that I've been glad to see AF! I called my RE and left a msg about what protocol she wants to do w/me this time around. We had talked about doing Clomid/IUI this cycle. I'm just anxious to get on w/the show, ya know? My tubes aren't blocked anymore, septum and polyp are out, stage 1 endo isn't that bad, I've got PIO for my LPD - my luck has to change soon right?
