Back from 34w OB appt

We didn't get to see Aidan today, but they measured my belly and Aidan is measuring 2 weeks ahead. So even though I'm 34wks, my belly is measuring at 36wks. So he's a big boy! He probably weighs about 5 lbs now. They want me to keep taking my daily regimen of Baby Aspirin for now. My blood pressure was 110/80 - so it's still well within the normal range. Our next OB appt is Jan 9th.

Here's my belly pic from last night, 34w0d. Just under 6 weeks until Aidan's due date! It won't be long now.

Last 3D u/s was today

We got to see our little son again today. This time he was a little more cooperative, but since we are late into the pregnancy now, he is running out of room and it makes it harder to get a clear image of his face. There has to be a lot amniotic fluid in front of the surface you are trying to see but b/c he is running out of room, his face was pressed up against the wall of my uterus again and we really didn't get any better images than we have the last few times. Oh well. I'm posting two of the images we got from today. His eyes were open, and he was playing w/his hands and opening his mouth. So cool! Our next OB appt is next Friday and they will be doing my first cervical exam to see if I've dilated at all yet. Yikes! Can't believe it's already almost time for labor and delivery!

No luck at 3D u/s today

We went to our last appt for our 3D u/s today and Aidan was still head down, but now he was face down and had his face buried into me again so we couldn't see his face. He's in the right position for birth, but not for taking his picture! We tried for about 30 minutes to get him to turn, but no luck. He is so shy and I think he will be a snuggle-bug, b/c he was quite content to snuggle against me instead of floating around in the amniotic fluid. They rescheduled us to try again next week and see if we have any luck then. So unfortunately, I don't have any new images of Aidan to post today. The tech did say that she saw lots of long whisps of hair on Aidan's head and pointed it out to us. How exciting!

I am doing well. Things are getting a little crazy for me work-wise. I've got 2 closings in the next week and 2 walks before Friday of this week. Ray's company xmas party is this Saturday night and I have no idea what I'm going to wear, still need to go shopping for that. The car dealership installed something in my new Tahoe and now about 10 things no longer work, so we've been trying to reach a compromise w/them for the last week about that and they are supposed to fix it all tomorrow. My hairdresser squeezed me in for a cut and color tomorrow, just in time for the xmas party and this will be my last opportunity before Aidan comes to do that.

I still need to pack our bag for the hospital. If anyone has any "must have" items for the hospital bag, please tell me! I have a list from books that recommend what you should bring w/you, but would welcome any experienced mom's recommendations.

I guess that's all for now. We've had a long day and I'm tired. We ran a lot of errands today and now I'm pooped. So I'm going to go get comfy and relax before bed.

OB appt today, 31w1d

We got to see Aidan again today! We always look forward to that. Everything looked great! He was still measuring a little bit ahead, but that is great news since most babies w/a 2 vessel cord are smaller than they are supposed to be. So the cord issue does not seem to be effecting him. He weighs approx 3lbs 14oz! The image I have attached is a profile shot of his head. He is in the head down position, facing up for now. He can still turn and move for now, but soon he'll be running out of room!

I have a good amount of amniotic fluid and told them about me being swollen in my hands and feet. They said that most of my recent weight gain is water weight and to not be on my feet for more than 3-4 hrs at a time to help reduce the swelling. It's not awful now, but it'll probably get worse before it gets better. My blood pressure was 110/60 today. They also started me on an Iron supplement in addition to my prenatals, Calcium supplement and Baby Aspirin I take each day.

We talked about our birthing plan and pediatrician recommendations. I need to bring a list of doctors from our insurance plan and they will point out ones from the list that they recommend. So that will be done on our next visit. We also scheduled out the rest of my remaining appts. Starting Jan, I'll be seen every week until delivery. The time is near! We can't wait to see him!

30w belly pic

It's been a while since we took a belly pic of me, so I thought I'd get an updated one up here. We are so close now to delivery day! Just under 10wks to go. I'm trying to get everything done by end of December, so that January I can just focus on resting so Aidan doesn't come early.

We have our next OB appt this Friday to check on Aidan's growth because of his cord issue and go over pediatrician referrals. We need to choose a doctor for Aidan quickly. So that will be my next item to cross off our to-do list.

I'm an Aunt!

My brother's ex-girlfriend, Lea, (whom I think I will just call my SIL (sister in law) since she will most likely be the closest thing I'll ever have to that) had their baby the evening of Dec 1. She weighed 7lbs 10oz and was 20 inches long and has lots of dark, curly hair. Lea has named her Madeleine Jo. She is so beautiful! I can't believe she's really here. It was a surreal feeling have a baby placed in your arms that is part of your family. Her hair was so long and thick! I can't wait to play with it!

30 wks = 8 mos, only 10 weeks to go!

Hard to believe that in 10 weeks (give or take) our lives will be changed forever by the birth of our son. I can't wait to hold him and touch his soft skin; see is little fingers and toes. Will he have Ray's nose or my lips? I just want him to be healthy.

We have our birthing class all day tomorrow. I'm looking forward to that. Then our next doctor appt is next week. Because of the cord issue w/Aidan, we will get ultrasounds at every appt to check his growth, so I'm looking forward to seeing him again.

It's been cold here yesterday and today. Wednesday it was in the 80's and Thursday it was in the 30's w/winds up to 40mph. Today is a little warmer than yesterday, but still cold. Lola has her pink sweater on to keep her warm. She hates to go outside when it's cold, so we have to go out there with her and coax her to go potty. She is sitting on my lap right now, her favorite place. There's not much room left on my lap for her these days. Aidan is taking up more and more space. Last week my tummy measured 36 inches, yesterday it was 42 inches! I'm not going to mention my weight anymore, lets just say it's way up there, in my opinion anyway. Last I checked, I was up 30 lbs. My pre-pregnancy pants still fit except for the tummy area, but I think my thighs and face have gotten bigger and my hands and feet still swell. They are especially swollen when I wake up, I can't even make a fist. But it gets better as I get up and move around. Usually after my shower, things are back to normal.

We are having friends over for dinner tonight, so I need to start getting the house ready and finish my laundry, and I forgot a few things at the store yesterday, so I need to go grab a few things.
